Background and Qualifications
My background and training as a therapist draw from a broad spectrum of schools of psychology, and I am known as a Humanistic and Integrative psychotherapist.
I trained for 5 years at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Maida Vale, London where the emphasis is on the transpersonal viewpoint.
The transpersonal perspective acknowledges the spiritual dimensions to human experience in the broadest sense. The therapy may include - according to what feels comfortable for the individual person - discussing and exploring childhood, family relationships, and any difficulties a person may be experiencing in their recent life.
I also work with Dreams: their significance and perspective in connection with real life. Similarly we may use visualizations and meditations in the same way.
I have been practicing as a counsellor and psychotherapist in London since 1997, and received a postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy from the C.C.P.E. in 2001.
I am accredited and registered with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy
(UKCP).
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. I have also studied, and attended seminars and workshops on C.B.T.
I began my work at the Caravan drop-in centre at St. James's Church, Piccadilly where I be-friended and counselled for 2 years, and then started a private practice in Primrose Hill, NW1.
I also worked at that time in a busy West London G.P.'s surgery, and for the following two years I counselled a very wide range of patients and problems.
Presently I practice in North West London, in West London at the Counselling Centre in Maida Vale and in private practice in Primrose Hill.
I am within easy reach of Hampstead, Belsize Park, Camden Town,the West End and Central London, Paddington and Little Venice.
I am also affiliated with the Me and My Baby Clinic in Fulham where I offer counselling, help and advice on ante-natal and post-natal issues and care. |
